Elk is the 1st of 2 newly released LP's recorded by American Studies.

We tried to capture the live energy and drive to be heard with an album that represented us: a loud band, never really content with settling down.

This album contains a mix of early and later material written by the San Francisco band including epic songs like Life in a Bunker, Oakland, Pots & Pans and Lights, which were never previously released.

AMERICAN STUDIES - Formed 2007 in San Francisco as Goodbye Nautilus; American Studies came about as a natural progression in 2009. The music is a Molotov cocktail of emotionally heavy lyrics mixed with a loud blend of indie, 50s/60s Pop, Garage & Post-punk.
